Today is June 21st.\u00a0 It\u2019s also the first day of summer.<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I\u2019ve got 2 girls, and it\u2019s summer break for them in 5 days. At the beginning of summer, I\u2019m always reminded of a powerful perspective exercise that was shared with me years ago.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s called 18 summers.<\/em><\/p>\n

We only have 18 summers with our kids.\u00a0 That\u2019s it.\u00a0 How\u2019s that for perspective?<\/p>\n

Once they are done, you never get them back.\u00a0 Closer to the end of high school & beyond, they start doing more of their own thing.\u00a0 Friends, College\/University, Travel, Jobs, Start a Family.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I used to be busy.\u00a0 I was focused more on making money than being the best dad I could be & this affected my relationship with my kids.\u00a0 I didn\u2019t like that.<\/p>\n

I thought to myself, what\u2019s the point in having kids, if I\u2019m never around to enjoy them.\u00a0 From that point on, I started to make some shifts.\u00a0 Some shifts were easy, and some took time.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

At the time of writing this, my daughters are now 9 & 12 and I\u2019m closer than ever with them.\u00a0 I am so grateful to have \u2018woken up to this idea when I did.<\/p>\n

How can you make the most out of this summer & the rest of your 18 summers with them?<\/p>\n

I hope I\u2019ve been able to give you a gentle nudge to shift your perspective.\u00a0 This was the same nudge I got years ago.<\/p>\n

Now go create the most EPIC summer with your kids.<\/p>\n
