“How you start the day sets the foundation for the entire day”
I believe this more than ever.
When I reflect on what gives me the most energy & the most focus during the day, it’s on those days when I start out with things that FILL MY ENERGY TANK.
I’ve had lots on the go (some personal + some business) over the last year. My morning routine has been on & off. If I’m being honest, it was more off than on.
In the last 2 months, I’ve gone to a couple of powerful personal growth events. At all of these events, I was reminded of the importance of a morning routine.
Going to these events was a great reminder + a good kick in the butt to restart my morning routine.
Over the last 3 weeks, I’ve been pretty consistent (probably 80%+) with my morning routine.
I’ve almost rejoined the 5 am club. Every morning, I’ve set my alarm 10-15 minutes earlier every day. I’m now waking up around 5:20ish. Having all this extra time in the morning allows me to do more of the things that fill my energy tank.
Some things I’m back to doing…
… Himalayan salt water drink. I’m on a ketogenic diet, so I require more salt.
… Wim Hof breathing
… meditation
… journaling
… reading
… green tea with matcha
… a couple of minutes on my inversion table. Helps my spine + improves circulation
… supplements – fish oil, collagen, vitamin D, probiotics
This seems like a bunch, but since I get up earlier, I’m able to get to all of these things… most of the time.
RISE & SHINE
The obvious, but rarely followed tip for getting up early is to go to bed early. When your alarm goes off in the morning, don’t negotiate with yourself. Roll over, turn off your alarm, take a deep breath & hop out of bed. The longer you stay in bed after your alarm goes off, the more likely you are to snooze longer.
I also know that I get stressed when I’m in a rush. I try my best to prep whatever I can the night before… making the kids lunches, getting my drinks ready for my daily workout.
Restarting new things takes time, and I’m practicing being more patient with myself & with the process.
When you start strong, you are more likely to finish strong.
At the beginning of 2019, I’m launching a program called The Best Year Ever. It’s a quick + easy 12-day program to help you start the new year with over-the-top energy levels so that you can make 2019 your best year ever. I have made the program insanely affordable so everyone can be part of it. $12 for 12 days. A buck a day. That’s it!
Commit to 2021. & beyond. Commit to yourself.
