Years ago, I was extra fit. Running marathons and doing extreme obstacle course racing. When things closed down, I did too. I was doing some things at home, but not even close to what I was doing before. My runs were very short and I did next to no strength training. I definitely wasn’t stretching myself and pushing myself. I lost the drive. I lost the accountability of going to fitness classes & registering for races. Last month, I committed to my 1st race in many years. It’s a Spartan Beast race at a ski mountain close by to me. It’s 21 kms, with 30 obstacles, through mud & water & hills. It’s not an easy one. Since registering, I’ve been kinda running. Still short distances, but I definitely need to start stepping up the distance + do some hill + strength training because the race is in a couple of months. I’m following a friend on social media and she is also doing the same race. I’ve been seeing her training and kicking ass and it’s extra motivating for me. Last night, I added some good workout music to my phone. With the extra motivation & the energy I got from the music, this morning I got out early and I ran my longest run in a long long time. A couple of questions for ya… What goals have you set for yourself? How can you add in a little extra motivation to push yourself? Let’s gooooooooooo!!!
