Talking to people can really help you understand how they think, act, and how they react when adversity throws them a curveball.
Growing up I was raised like the average kid was raised. I was taught to avoid failure, not take risks, to be normal, and always stay within my comfort zone. This is perfectly okay if you are willing to be average and stay within the lines.
I hear many times from many people, ” I could never afford a house like that”, ” I could never go on vacations like that”, ” I hate my job”, and the list goes on.
Well, guess what??? That used to be me. I was groomed to be average. No offense to my parents. I love my parents with all my heart. I was just destined for more than average. And I am here to tell you that average is boring, plain and simple. If you want to go beyond average, then you have to be willing to get out of your comfort zone and play outside of the lines.
If you are like most, you have probably pondered the idea of having your own business or had an idea that you thought could make you money.
But what was it that stopped you? Like some, you worry about the opinions of others, worry about losing friends, or you worry about being different.
These exact things are what holds much back. Just like the horse pictured above. Many of us have the chain hooked to us and we don’t even know it. And little do we know that we are chained up to nothing more than that plastic chair. And that chair is our MIND, and we are not even aware of it because we have been groomed like this for so many years. Remember, everything is rooted in something.
Will you continue to be average and stay chained to that plastic chair named “Fear”, or will you get outside your comfort zone and go beyond average?
The choice is yours. We only live once. Don’t live with regret.
Enjoy your week ahead. Enjoy the journey and never forget your WHY.

This reminds me a lot of what was preached at my home church this morning by Jason Paredes.
There’s two cycles:
The Doubt Cycle – starts with doubt, which leads to fear, then leads to anxiety, which leads to ultimately death.
The Faith Cycle – starts with faith, which leads to hope, then leads to strength, and ultimately a fulfilling life.
Choose wisely.
