- THIS INSPIRED ME
As I continue on my personal growth journey, I’ve been thinking more and more about my past and what’s gotten me to where I’m at today
For the longest time, I was (and sometimes still am) a perfectionist.
Always having to ensure things are ‘just right’ or I don’t put it out there.
I think this one stems back from when I was a kid. I have 2 brothers and I’m the youngest by 6 years.
I remember my dad would call me the “Golden Child” or “Goldie” and that “I could do no wrong”.
Subconsciously I must have felt that I had to live up to those names.
I believe being a perfectionist is good in some ways as it helped me to try harder & push more.
… My dad was my soccer coach (and scout leader) and he always encouraged me to do my best
Reflecting on my last bunch of years, I can tell it’s also held me back in some ways. I’ve been nervous about putting myself out there.
When creating content, or recording videos, I wouldn’t release it because it wasn’t 100%.
As an adult, I’ve grown up in many ways, but I’m still working on that “Golden Child”
I catch myself in those perfectionist moments and I’m more ok with things not being perfect.
We have to remember…
